The colours of cardamom

Birds pecked at my windowsill

Slugs sucked on peaches and plums, until the core was revealed 

How we envy entropy, wishing it were concealed. 

Those hours of in-between, tired bones after a long day

Replenished by the resting freedom

Peace slips in through the hallway

Of sunlight in its hazy slumber, fading orange glow

The door is closed. Air seeps from beneath.

Street corners on your way home. 

Delicate railings trace the contours of the house,

like lace cuffed sleeves

Shadows of the transient 

backbending in your hands

Dried clay becomes wet again, drenched 

in the fragrance of memory
