This is 

a deferring to necessity, 

the time it takes to dry garments on a clothesline on a humid day, 

or to persuade the house cat to come inside before nightfall. 

(the parable of drawing near is to be further away, 

and further away to draw near)

The parallax effect:

sandpaper against running water, backstroke in laughter,

fire on glass mirrors, the anticipation of logic, 

always counterproductive like the pointillist’s play of many all at once. 

An intermediary over an interference of force, 

figura serpentinata standing in the sun, 

its complexity with no part undone nor left untouched, 

basking in that simple light, quiet becoming.
