"Do not view mountains from the scale of human thought." - Dōgen

This painting represents a resurrection and convergence of vitality with connection and belonging: that we do not have to compromise a vitality of self and aliveness to know love, belonging, and mutual recognition. The path of becoming known to ourselves and letting others know us are not opposing forces. Intrinsically they are intertwined. I was reminded of this while sitting overlooking some mountains, and everything that felt dense and constricted released out over this spaciousness. This painting is that release.
